Mileage question

Hi, new to the forum , i have been having a quick look on the forum as i am looking to purchase a passat. ..i currently have a clio 1.5dci 80bhp on a 04 plate and i am not sure which way to go on the purchase,ie i have had my clio from new and have 118.0000 on the clock now i know i wont get a good amount from a dealer on a px but i cannot seem to find a private seller locally though i have around £4000 cash which if i go to a dealer i would get around £1500 in p/x towards the car ,my question is what kind of mileage and year of passat should i be looking at for £5500 . ..i have this silly mind set that any car with 100k on the clock is past its best ,although i know its not correct as my clio as 1118k and still returns over 60mpg on a run. Any advice would be apreciated regarding what passat i should be looking at .Thanks
