Hesitation when pulling away

For as long as I've had my car the engine has hesitated everytime I go to pull away. The car starts moving and then it will jolt before letting me pull away completely.

Any ideas on this? I know of a few things that need doing on the engine like the engine speed sensor which is stuck in the damn engine.

whilst on the subject how do I remove the engine speed sensor? I removed the one screw from it and pulled but nothing. I can spin the sensor in the hole but the damn thing just won't come out!
