P023A Intermittent Fault

Post by cosmichamster »

Evening all,

Had an intermittent fault for a couple of weeks now and wondering if anyone would have ideas/advice before I take it in somewhere.

It’s a B8 Passat 2.0 TDI estate. I did a self service on it and a few days later engine light came on. Scanned as P023A - Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Control Circuit / Open.

Had a quick search and someone mentioned connections being knocked when changing oil filter as it’s accessed from below. Was going in for rear calipers so mechanic cleaned a few of the connections around oil filter housing. Got it back and no engine lights.

However I now get it every few days, light comes on then stays off for a few, then on again etc.

At very start it did go into limp mode once but rectified itself and has been running ok since even with light on.

Car also had a map approx 4 months ago.

Any ideas or route I could go down before just jumping in to replace a pump.

Cheers
