cam chain tensioner rebuild
As B5/5.5 owners know all too well, cam chain tensioner problems are common. Replacements are either Chinese affordable (of doubtful reliability) or OEM (eye wateringly expensive). Leaking internal seals is often quoted as the cause of failure and that got me wondering if it was possible to replace these seals (O rings). Couldn't find anything in the usual forums but found a Russian Youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIPp22S_3JM . It would be interesting to try, if anybody can work out the correct O-Ring sizes ( there are online Russian suppliers of a kit of replacement O rings but I doubt they would dispatch outside Russia )
