Poor fuel consumption after new Turbo & Intercooler fitted - 1.9 TDi AVF 4motion

Post by fart-nugget »

Hey,

As the title suggests, I fitted a new (reconned) turbo as well as a new intercooler to the car. White I was at it I also fitted a new MAP and N75 valve (might be an N18. Not sure which is which. It was the one down by the turbo not up by the MAP sensor)

I also give it a full service; oil and all filters.

But now when Im out I'm out I get quite poor fuel consumption. It's fine when you're just cruising with just a little throttle applied but as soon as you give it any kind of throttle, you can see the live reading for MPG go to well into the low teens. And then when I get back from a drive I'll be getting mid-high 30s when on the same drive before I did the turbo I was getting low to mid 40s.

Also, there's now a very mild whistle coming from the turbo when I accelerate. It's quiet but it's definitely there.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks,
B
