I'm looking to buy a 2012-14 Passat Alltrack, preferably the DSG version to make my life a bit easier.
I've currently got 2 lined up, both around the same price, both with a bit of bumper damage but nothing major.
The first one (12 plate, 132k) has the panoramic roof, and is 2 hours closer to me however the seller "has taken it in part exchange for another car he was selling" and currently has the v5c in the previous owner's name. If I was to go for this vehicle I would insist on him obtaining the V5 in his own name before buying it, the addition of another owner does not bother me.
The second vehicle (14 plate, 150k) is 2 hours further away, has 20k more miles and has an actual puncture in the rear bumper although this looks small and is likely to be cosmetic. Does anyone on here know how likely this is to have done any structural damage underneath? Seller seems very genuine in communication, has a good service history and has had the bumper puncture checked out by a garage who think it's fine but cannot be 100% unless the bumper is removed.
Have been looking for one of these for a while, and am finding online used car sales to be the Wild West (as I was well aware of, but still!).
Any opinions on either vehicle welcome.
