Fuel filter valve part number confusion

Post by wulfprints15 »

Hi all,

In a bit of a situation here! My fuel filter valve (black plastic bit that the hoses go through) has cracked and is leaking fuel. As such, my car is out of operation until I can get a new one.

Matey at the dealership told me VW don't make the part for my car anymore but its part number is 1J0 127 247 J. I have not been able to find that part at all and there are no local breakers with anything.

What I have been able to find all over the internet is part number 1J0 127 247 A. I asked the chap at the dealership and he said VW do still make that part but that it could be quite different than the part ending with J(though he couldn't say how).

I have trawled the internet trying to find out what the difference is between the parts but cannot find anything concrete.

Now my car is a 2002 B5.5 VW Passat with a 1.9 TDI AWX engine. Febi Bilstein say that their part number 26960 is equivalent to 1J0 127 247 A which supposedly fits an Audi A6 Avant with an AWX engine... but not my VW Passat with an AWX engine. Exact same engine. Same part?

I have ordered it and am 80% confident it will be fine but, given it's to do with fuel delivery, can anyone give me that final 20%?

Thanks in advance!

Jamie
