Adjustable Coilovers for B5.5...very happy

Post by BIG F@ TW@ »

Ordered and paid for Weds, delivered by UPS the following Tuesday. Great communication and cost was £150 posted.

Great quality, well packed. Looking forward to fitting. This is the third set I've had over past few years. Happy Camper. Image

They look smart.
What make are they ?
Do you have a link or company you got them from ?

I've got FK on mine and the adjusters are seized solid.
I'm unable to raise the height of it as it rubs everywhere and looking for a new set to fit.

These will do the trick.

Thanks

Fitted mine yesterday, took about 4hrs in total. I made sure to regrease all bolts removed, also to grease the whole thread section on the front set.

Just one thing to watch, there wasn't any washers included that go at the bottom of the top nut thread section. I used the ones off the set I had removed. They go on before you put the top cup on.

The middle pic is showing the grease, not the ride height setting.

I set the fronts by leaving 30mm of thread, this gave me a good 2inch drop.

I will be checking again in a few weeks after it settles.ImageImageImage

Hi there Guys might be interested in a set of these for my highline b5.5. Have had cars lowered on springs before and very hard hitting on like potholes and water grates on road. Would these coilovers be hard hitting or softish? And also what is the ride comfort and handling like ?

Hi bud

I have used these on all of my Pashats, and love the ride quality. I ride low (not reeeeal low but I have in the past on these) and the handling etc is very good. It does depend a lot on your tyre profile, I used to ahve 225/18/35's and I found them harsh, however once I changed to 225/40/18 it was like a new vehicle. I often have the wife/children/dog/luggage and the ride is great.

I must add I do have a audi strut brace and the heavy duty front ARB fitted, however these haven't effected how the coilovers feel etc.

Would it be hard hitting if or when hitting a pothole or the likes on the roads ?

Well there's a few variables to take into account there bud, how low you have it set, tyre profile, bush/top mount condition etc and wheel size. Any lowered vehicle will find potholes harsher than un-lowered cars, however after driving lowered vehicles for the past 28yrs or so, I have developed a sixth sense when driving and can spot them a mile off and adjust my course accordingly.

How low you going, what profile tyre and what condition is the rest of your suspension in?

Don’t want to go mad low like. Just to the top of tyre or slightly above it. Got standard 15” highline wheels on but going to 18” probably 215 40 18.
