Irritation with xternal lights and TP programme (unrelated)

I have just bought a B7 estate from my local VW dealer and it had been a demonstrator. I have two irritations with it. The first one is that despite setting up the exterior lights so that come on when you unlock and lock the car only the former works properly. When I unlock the car the lights come on for the time I have set. However, wehn I get home and remove the key all the lights kept going off and I'd have to make my way up to the house inthe dark. I raised this with the guys at the garage and they agreed to have a look and have come up with a rather weird workaround. If I blip the main beam stalk beofre I get out of the car the exterior lights come on. That works fine (assuming I remember to blip the stalk that is). However, if you go out to the car in the dark and get something out of it the lights are fine but when I lock the car they go off and it seems daft that I have to go and blip thre stalk to get them to come on. I know it is not a disaster in the great scheme of things but it is a nuisance this time of year. Anyone got any thoughts?

The second thing is the Traffic programme on the radio. It is pants. For instance, I drive through London every day and yet it doesn't pick up BBC travel alerts. It gives the odd random alert eg 3 Counties Radio but not much else. All my other cars have done (albeit to the point of overkill). It is the RNS315 system. Moan over.
