HI chaps.
I am looking to buy a B6 2.0 TDi here in Germany and have a couple of questions before doing so.
I have searched but cant find exactly what i am after. Now thats either i am looking for the wrong questions or its not been clearly answered.
I hope you dont mind me asking here.
I want a 170 version. Those in good nick without stratospheric mileage here are hard to come by (and bl&&dy pricey). SO i was thinking a 140 and next trip back to Blighty get it remapped (recommendations welcome) to circa 165-170.
Now to the question.
My last car was a Saab 9-3 Aero i had remapped to 255bhp. Great fun and masses of torque which was the best part. Sad part was that the remap increased the torque so much that in 4th or 5th gear acceleration i couldnt spool up the turbo fully as it just caused the clutch to slip MASSIVELY.
So.
What torque figure is safe for a manual B6 box? Or (currently the preferred option) is the DSG a better option?
I appreciate the frustration at a "Noob" asking questions straight off the bat. But please be patient with me ;)
Thanks.
Remapping safe torque limits.
