B7 Lower Dash removal

Post by 4Way »

My a/c has stopped working and I want to check the a/c clutch relay is working. I can see the relays through a gap by the cubby hole under the steering wheel but haven't managed to get to them. I taken the screws out underneath the dash, so the trim panel above the pedals comes out. I've taken the screw out in the cubby hole and two screws in the end of the dash on the drivers side where there is a fuseboard. But after that I'm stuck, the lower dah won't come away. It looks like I shoud be able to somehow pull the cubby out and reach through to the relays but I can't get that to happen. Various internet searches give results that just skim over this bit. Can someone give me a bit of guidance of what is required. I have begun to suspect that it can't be done and that a lot more of the dash has to come off to give the access.

thanks
