Coilover question

I was just wondering what coilovers can be used on a b3 estate? I know mk2/3 golf ones fit and I do have a set of vr6 ones at home but I'm concerned they may not be up to taking the weight of the car as it's considerably heavier than a golf. Do passat coilovers use a heavier spring and damper? Any help would be great cheers
