B3 Estate - Break or Sell...?

Post by Ali »

It's got to the point now where i no longer need my B3

It was an absolute bargain when i got it, completely standard and cleaned up really well. Que the usual antics - coilies/wheels/bra/stickers and i've eeked out about 5 years of ownership that i didn't expect!!

It's now out of tax and MOT and i can't justify spending any more money on it as i just don't need it.

It's a 1.8 petrol and it's now covered 220,000miles, it would probably keep going on and on...

So here's the dilemma... It's got coilies fitted, 16" new beetle steels(T5 hubcaps) fitted on FK adaptors, a great interior(with sticker bombed sections), a bonnet bra, minimal rust, a recent alternator...

BUT the valve stem oil seals have gone (like the red arrows on start up), the boot won't open any longer, the rear coilovers have no damping left in them, the wheels need repainting, and lets face it, it probably is getting a bit long in the tooth.

So what to do? Sell as a whole without tax and mot as a 'project', or take off the good bits and scrap/sell the rest.

I can't see it being worth much as a project, but what if it were a set of wheels and adaptors and a car thrown in for free...? That kind of thing - do people see that kind of bargain anymore?

What do you think chaps?
