im having some trouble with my passat 1.8t, i fitted coilovers to it a year ago and its lowered about 100mm maybe less.....
3 months after lowering it the power steering rack broke, i had it replaced with a reconditioned one costing £250 but i got £120 back from giving ours back, but last weekend the steering rack failed again!! the rack is still covered if its a different fault but if its the same ill need to fork out out for a new one!!
i only do about 100 miles a week and not really any major potholes or bad roads, i dont know what top do as i cant really afford to change it every year.
ive tried selling it on ebay as i cant afford anything at the mo, but the buyer has just got back to me, didnt read the listing properly
i just need advise if anyone has any to give, ive spoke to a few people and they say that it being low wont affect the steering rack, but my local garage has said that it has to be the reason......but all you lot on here have way lower passats than mine!!
