B5 chip or re-map? also lowering the rear

I have a b5 20vt on an r plate aeb engine code, I have been offered a chip for my ecu, now can I just fit a chip or does it need re-mapping? If its a re-map I am trying to find somewhere down south wales area who can do it if you have any recommendations.

Also I have raceline coilovers on the car & the fronts go really low even with the helpers in but the rear no where near as much. I need to keep the adjuster in as for everyday use it cant be totally slammed as the speedbumps on my estate are huge. Can I get shorter springs or use springs off another car?
