Hi All

**VW Passat Estate 2000 B5 TDI PD (ATJ)**

Had a great afternoon on the passat managed to achieve alot. Fixed my rear wiper motor, rear wash pipe, side light bulb and split vac pipe.

Free fix

1. Removed side panel in boot to find the rear washer pipe come adrift. Easy fix. Removed tail gate panel, to find rear wiper motor disconnected. Thought this cant be that easy lol, Reconnected still inop. Checked fuse and feed to rear motor all ok. Removed wiper motor to find the shaft that goes through the motor to the spindle seized. Removed cleaned, filed and regreased. Rebuilt tail gate and :D to find it working lol. Free fix.

2. On the front i seen the vac pipe going to the waste gate split. Replaced with a joining pipe. While i was there i have noticed a pipe that had came off the back of the air box. Also done the side light bulb while air intake pipe removed.

Questions

1. I have a dash bulb out behind the 0-20 mph dial. Can you change this by accessing through the fuse cover? if not how do you replace this?

2. I seen a lot of oil from the EGR valve and the solnoid didnt seem too good felt loose. Is this cheap and easy to replace?

3. When i started to remove the engine cover i noticed a lot of smoke coming from the oil dip stick tube? is this normal?

4. When i had the car the glove box lid handle was broken looks like the pins that hold it in place have opened up. How can i put this back? cannot access them when the handle is in position to close the pins.

Thank you for the time taken to read and reply

Regards Andy
