89 B3 Wagon - SOLD

Post by lawsy »

So following on from my posts here - Resistance is futile, the intro post i thought i better do the proper members rides thread...

The purchase!!
The other night I came home, hit view new posts and found an advert, thought bargain, made a few phones calls and left a deposit there n then, the only part of the deal was i insisted the thread gets removed (saved you lot from either sniping it or knowing what i was up to) reason mainly because if it turned out to be a complete shed, i could move on/scrap/break it without a torrid of abuse!!

the advert read..
bog standard estate 1990 (G)reg, dont want to see it scrapped, have had it for 5 years or so.
MOT till 9th OCT -
has tax till end of this year.
mileage 153,000

Could do with a wash lol - (see pics)
no rust
tyres are ok,
inside is ok, small tear in roof lining
all electrics work, windows etc, (except rear wiper) central locking all works
no damp or water leaks, (sorted this out earlier in the year)
has had a new windscreen this year
has had a new water pump this year
i think the front pads need doing

I know i can get £130 odd for scrap weight so am looking for just £150 for the car without the tax - the tax is worth £80 to me if i have to scrap it before the end of this month - so if the buyer wants the car with tax it will have to be added to the price £225 inc tax (cash only)

I'm not going to pretend its somthing its not - it's just a run of the mill car nothing fancy, but seems a real shame to scrap it, when it all works ok.

Am based in Portsmouth Hants

Called up my insurance company, got it added for just the £20 admin fee (happy days :-bd :-bd ) then jumped on a train journey.. almost 4 hours after setting off I arrived in Portsmouth, was greeted at the train station, handed over the cash, put some juice in and drove home..

Journey home was ok, few little splutters and a couple of quirky noises, but otherwise all was good - I put some of this down to not being used, 2k miles since last mot...

The only major problem I had was a motorbike passed me, flicked up a stone and cracked that new windscreen - gutted, but its not really started to spread yet, so give it a little while longer and will get it sorted on the insurance..
