B2 estate for sale

Post by moki »

I am at my witts end!

If some one offers me sensible money they can take my b2 passat estate away. The reason being i have just bought a weber carb off ebay and think i may have been right royally 'tucked up'. It didn't run very well with the old 2e2 carb and was advised to fit one of these. Now it ticks over eratically and appears to have an air leak from the carb, as when you spray carb cleaner near it the revs go through the roof. I,m more used to air cooled stuff and this took me ages to sort out and after all that effort i have just about had enough.

A few details about the car.

B reg, 1.8cc petrol finished in beige (or jewish racing gold depending on how you look at it). It has a little over 98k on the clock and drives lovely, its just this lumpy idling that lets it down. In a straight line it pulls like a train. Its taxed and tested, and sailed through its MOT last time and the inspector was quite amazed at the condition of it. I bought it off of an old guy that has owned it from new and had to part with it because he was just too old to drive. It was/ is garaged at night. Inside is in great condition and it still sports its original radio cassette player. The only mod is to the boot/ lugage area which has been covered in veedub pics to hide the cracks in the ancient plastic. It even has the original fluid in the rear wash bottle that it left VW with all those years ago.

I'm shown as the third owner, as the old guy got custody of the car during a bitter divorce from his wife who's name it was in. In a fit of spite she threw the head rests away ( bitch really knew how to hurt a guy) so these are missing.

On the outside there are a few blemishes, the worst being a small hole at the bottom of the front wing but when cleaned up the car looks quite charming. I will try to post some pics up whan my PC lets me.

It will need a drivers side headlamp for its next MOT as it is chipped but thats about it. Just before i picked the car up the old guy had a new exhaust fitted, new radiator, new heater matrix and a service. Oh, and a clutch. He, like me, really loved the car.

I'm pretty sure there is stuff i've forgotten so if there is something you need to know then get intouch on 07795546813 or email me on Leestuchbury@hotmail.co.uk. If i cant upload any pics i can text them to you, but for now here is a quick description. Its beige, small bumpers, no roof bars.
