I gave up and just flushed the atf and refilled it.Can anyone offer some advice on how to move away this steel pipe, or otherwise access the bolt(s) so that I can clean up the transmission and replace the filter?

How to open 4-speed automatic transmission (01n)?
I was hoping to change the atf and filter in my automatic transmission (4-speed 01n type, car is 1.9 TDI 2000 AHU estate), but once I got under the car I found of course that (at least) one bolt was covered by some rigid steel piping. I gave up and just flushed the atf and refilled it.
Can anyone offer some advice on how to move away this steel pipe, or otherwise access the bolt(s) so that I can clean up the transmission and replace the filter?
