Any 5.5 owners not having water ingress nightmares?

HI all,
Currently looking at 5.5 Passats and have been looking through this forum and at the web re info.

Seems they are generally great, reliable vehicles - however there does seem to be a lot of info in regards to all sorts of water ingress............sounds like a right pita.

Generally are people not having problems and I'm just seeing the typical scenario of happy owners don't post faults on a forum cause they have none - or is this actually a really common issue with these cars to the point where a B6 might be a better option?
