i have a 99 1.8t.
just before xmas i had my exhaust flexi pipe replaced at a local garage, since having this done my car has developed a loud thump when changing down gears, or when on and off throttle sharply. after reading a few post on here its leading to gearbox/engine mounts.
can anyone help in diagnosing the problem? could it be that the garage has twisted the exhaust fitting the flexi pipe? or if it does turn out to be the mounts, whats involved in replacing them, is it worth doing yourself or easier to let a garage take the ball ache?
any help would be more than appretiated
