2006 2.0tdi Passat estate bmr

Afternoon everyone.
I’m 100 miles from home and just had a warning light come on. Glow Plug light flashing and message saying to go to the garage. Car went into limp mode… pulled over turned engine off and back on, glow plug light not flashing but car still in limp mode and exclamation mark still on display. And ideas?

UPDATE - Limp Mode cleared after turning the engine off for longer.
