B6 engine undertray

Hi all.

My B6 estate is missing it’s undertray, the n/s bottom part of the wheel arch liner and both top part of the arch liners are damaged.

Anyway, have gotten a second hand undertray and ordered the n/s bottom part which is everywhere the undertray attaches to if I’m right.

The question is that I remember reading the insulation on the tray causes issues with corrosion. I know this happened with the Zafira A models where the foam held moisture and because it was in direct contact with the sub frame it caused it to corrode badly.

First am I right or have I read summat else somewhere?

Second, if I *am* right would you guys recommend fitting as is or removing the foam first?

Third (and last) if removal of foam is advised does anyone have any tricks or methods for removal.

Thanks guys, I know it can run without one but I like to have the underguard in place if possible.
