I'm new here, hope you guys can help. I have a 2010 CC GT.
I've searched here and googled this but can never seem to find my specific issue. Quite regularly the doors will not unlock when using either of my 2 fobs. I use the plastic key from the fob to open the driver door and the alarm goes off
. It stops once the fob is inserted and it starts the car as normal. Then, just as randomly, both fobs will work just fine for days.Both fobs will ALWAYS open the boot and lock the doors - these 2 functions are unaffected. I asked the VW dealership to look at it and they said it was the transponders in the keys - £560 for 2 new keys!!!
To me, it has to be the car not the keys, surely? I can't believe both keys fail randomly at precisely the same time. Also, wouldn't the lock and boot open buttons use the same transponder as the unlock signal in the fobs?
