fuel filler flap

Hi I have a b6 o8 reg Passat bluemotion estate and have recently replaced the fuel flap but I can.t get it to lock , it just doesn't seem to reach the locking cam . the question now is ,is there a difference between the saloon and estate flap. Thanks in advance. :???:
