We are making our annual trip to the antique fair at Lille, I have been spending on the Passat lately and thought it was in fine fettle for the 800 miles ahead of us. Well four days before we were due to set off the flexi on the down pipe started blowing.
I was near a Kwik Fit and asked them to have a look, they rang back and said none of their four suppliers list a down pipe. 2006 TFSi.I then tried an exhaust repair/custom build place. What a bunch of drama queens, (sharp intake of breath) Oh no mate we will have to take it off (get away) do this do that , no chance this week mate.
Then at my wits end (the day before we were due to set off) tried a place we have used before, proper old school type garage with lots of good reviews. Well no drama from them, job done, new flexi and a repair to a crack on the flange to the turbo. £100, holiday saved. Well chuffed.
