2008 B6 turn off problem

Hi. Sometimes when I try to turn off the engine as in removing the fob the engine carries on running and a reading something to do with the steering lock or brake system and refer to your manual. What is strange is that it doesn't happen very time. Can anyone shed any light on this.Thanks in advance.
