Change Oil Pump ? Or Not ?
Considering getting a B6 2.0d around a 2006 - 2008. As the car will probably have 70-80k miles on it, should I replace the oil pump before it fails or is there a way of checking which years are prone to failure ? My local VW indi want £400 to change the oil pump drive shaft that costs £15 !!! and I don't really want to spend 3-4K on a car that I then have to spend £400 for an oil pump change and £400 for a cambelt / water pump change
