Injector Issue & ASV - will it eventually stop?

Post by Twincam »

Good evening gents (and ladies if there are any!)

Today my lovely 06 Passat (2.0 TDi BKP) decided it would flag up a flashing coil light (and display engine workshop) on the way to work. The usual turn off and restart didn't remove it (I have at times had an over boost error code) and subsequently, on the way home I received an emission error and a MIL light to go with it.

The car ran perfectly fine on both journeys however I am not convinced it will continue that way.

I did a VCDS scan and below are the results:

Excusing the over boost error (I have a hybrid turbo which will eventually find its way onto her), I have two errors regarding injector #4 and the ASV. The ASV is making strange noises so I can only imagine the motor has stripped - I believe it has been on its way out for a while as she would shudder a bit more than normal when the engine was turned off.

Now my question is.... with injector number four having an intermittent fault, if it became a permanent fault, would the engine go into limp mode or would the engine turn off completely and fail to start?

I'm currently working on my B5.5 so it won't be on the road for another week or so and I'm hoping the B6 will get me to and from work, if not i'll have to use the T4.

I do have another ASV and a set of new injectors/loom but time is not on my side at the moment.

Thanks in advance.
