My car stalled and wouldn't start.

My Mrs was driving the car a few days ago when it suddenly stopped and wouldn't start up again. It turned over OK but by the the time I got to her, the battery was getting low (hazard lights etc), so it was struggling to turn over.

I had to get it recovered to the local mechanic who also could not get it started and said there were no fault codes at all showing. He rang an auto spark who suggested a few things but no joy. He charged the battery for a while and kept turning it over until eventually it started. But it was a struggle.

Can anyone suggest what would cause this, especially with no fault codes? My wife is afraid to drive it again in case the same thing happens. What doesn't help is that 2 weeks prior, the nearside calliper seized in the exact same location!
