Rear Lower Control Arm to Hub - bolt torque value

Post by extra8 »

hi, we want to replace a broken rear spring on a 2007 B6 tdi.

It looks straightforward after googling and viewing some youtube videos for spring replacement for VWs.

All the videos show the nut & bolt which connects the lower control arm to the rear wheel hub being re-used.

A few years ago, I recall a VW specialist replaced the broken rear springs on a relative's 04 Touran and didn't use new bolts. (The lower control arm looks similar on both the B6 and Touran)

Can anyone share the tightening torque info for this bolt, or offer any advice?

Tnx in advance.

Update: I found this PDF for the B6.

http://vwts.ru/suspension/b6/b6_42_eng.pdf

I think it refers to the lower control arm as 'lower transverse link'. On page 6, the 'wheel bearing housing' to 'lower transverse link' torque spec is 90 Nm + 90 degree turn for the 'replace if removed' 75mm long M12 bolt.

(Instructions for Golf mk5, which Touran is based on, is the same)
