tpms - won't reset.

Post by tritonofnor »

Hi Guys,
Just bought a Passat to replace my ageing Volvo, and have a couple of issues I need help with !
Firstly, the TPMS light is on. Have checked the tyre pressures are set at the values on the fuel filler cap, then tried pushing and holding the tyre set button by the gear lever. Have tried this after car stationary for a while, ignition on, then engine running, and just can't get a "Bong" and a reset! Looking at the wheels the valves are ordinary rubber type, so I am presuming that this particular model (a 2008 2.0tdi se estate) senses wheel rotation from the abs to throw the light. Is there another way to reset, or have I got the procedure wrong somehow? Thanks in advance for your help..
