Highline iPhone Won't Connect

Post by G60JONNY » Fri Aug 03, 2018 8:09 pm

Its a 2009 (59) Highline Estate, with DAB and bluetooth phone interface. The car can see the phone but then displays a message stating device is not compatible when i try and connect!!

Is this something that can be fixed or am I never going to be able to connect our phones to the new car?! :((

Crapple, id blame the phone first. Not sure if its still the case but apple devices at one point wouldnt play nice even on supposedly universal bluetooth with anything not apple approved. They claimed this as a security feature :hyst

Try it with another phone, preferably android, if it pairs and works you have your answer.

Most likely you will need to change the Bluetooth module that is under the driver seat. Some of them are compatible with iPhone some are not.

Check what you have under the driver seat.

Nokia was the Premium phone module way back when Nokia were something and most people had them just before they went t!ts up - probably the same one I have. Connects to android phones fine (has a weird way of updating the phone address book - must be from sim contacts) but haven't yet got a crapple iffy phone to hook up. Strange though as I have the iffy pod connection above the glove box.

Right then......got under the drivers seat this evening, there is the box there and the VW part number is:

5N0 035 730 B

So this is the wrong one for iPhone, does anyone know which part number I need??

TIA

Jonny

Check the following link out, translate it from French to English
http://www.sovag.fr/index.php/marque-vw ... -bluetooth

And heres amore comprehensive list.
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... trofitting

Seems your module 5N0 035 730 B does not support the HFP protocol which an iPhone needs. From the list you need either module 3C8 035 730 A or B, or module 035 730 D 5N0

Theres a few of the 3C8 035 730 modules on ebay.de but there not cheap. When I upgraded my bt module last winter got lucky, managed to pick up the module I needed for £100 I believe from ebay.de

heres one
