Water in the tailgate

Hi
First rain for a while today and when I reversed from my work parking space and stopped water came out of the internal tailgate trim above the rear window (just below where the high level brake light is). This left water on the load cover and the plastic boot liner. I know it's not the end of the world (and it is a 2007 model estate after all) but I've had the car since 2010 and this has never happened before. Any ideas anyone?
