HID Kits, Failing MOT Yes or No

Hiya Guys ...
Just picked up the B6 from my local garage, they then informed me that as of May 21st the HID kit that's fitted to the motor will be a auto fail. If this is correct what other options would be open to me...I purchased the car with them fitted, and unfortunately I know like back of postal stamp etc...
Any help or advice as ever most appreciated
