Advice on possible 2010 CC purchase please?

Hi all

I'm new here and looking at buying a Passat CC. I currently have a 2011 BMW F10 5 series (3.0ltr diesel) which is a great car but I figure I can maybe get a similar year car with less miles and save a bit of money.

I'm probably going to go 2.0Tdi auto as my BMW is auto - are there any issues with the auto boxes on the VW's? What kind of real world MPG figures can I expect from the 2.0tdi motor? (again the BM is good - I get around 650 miles - sometimes 700+ to a tank (70ltr) with 80% motorway miles). Could I get similar numbers from the Passat?

Would it be best to go manual? I have my eye on a couple of cars with around 70-80k miles and full history - one manual and one auto.

I wonder if anyone can tell me what to look out for? Any particular year cars to avoid?
