Reduced MPG

Hi guys,

My Passat Highline 170 (60 plate) done 142k has dropped in mpg. I used to get 45mpg no problems 6 months ago now i have to drive it really easy to get 38mpg average. Could their be a reason for this? I have been thinking about getting the engine cleaned out possibly. I tried Redex engine cleaner that did nothing. I did notice the coolant levels dropping but they seemto have stopped. The car has no expense spared and travels 60 miles per day. Thank you
