Can anyone give me some advice? My 2006 2.0 TDi 140 DSG turbo whistles (Or whines, don't know how to describe it). Not through any particular rev range. It just starts whistling as soon as I apply the power and doesn't really stop at any point. Being an ex class 1 driver I'm used to hearing the turbo whistle, and I have to say that it's a great sound! Engine power seems to be normal, and I don't get any turbo lag (Perhaps that's a warning sign?). Just wondering if the whistle is normal or is a sign of impending doom?
I should add that I only bought the car 2 weeks ago, and see from the history that a new intercooler was fitted in June of this year by a reputable garage. I would like to think that if anything else had been wrong it would have been done at the same time.
So.... Normal or terminal? I would appreciate any input from other owners.
Thanks.
