Towing a '57 B6 TDI Sport BKP

Hi All,
Probably a strange question but I was wondering if you could help please?
I would like advice on how far it would be possible to safely tow the above car and the most cost effective but SAFE equipment to buy.
The tow car already has a towbar and the Passat is a 6 speed manual so I assume it is ok to tow with all 4 wheels on the road?
