Blower motor carbon Brushes replacment

Hi
I'm having intermittent problem with blower motor, where sometime will not switch on until I hit it a bit
, I already replaced resistor but still the same problem, so decided to strip the motor and have a look at brushes, they only have about 5mm in length so I just ordered set from ebay and will have a go at removing them, anyone de-soldered the wires previously on one???
