DTC coolant pump 2 comes back again

I've got these 2 codes (usually just the top one). I've unplugged the pump temporarily until I can get it replaced, but after clearing the fault codes it still comes back even though the pump is unplugged. What happens is I clear the fault code in vcds, I hear a whirring noise that dies down whilst the code is clearing and then it whirs back up. Could it be something else?
