Airbag Warning Light

Post by Byr0n »

Hello!

I lent my car to my wife yesterday as I needed her C-Max as I was picking something up on my way home from work. She rarely uses it, when she does she needs to move the drivers seat into her driving position because she is smaller then me.

I believe this has caused my airbag light to come on. I have looked online and seen that the yellow connector is worth a play around with and a clean, I'm not sure if you need to reset the light though for it to go off?

Failing that, I have read that you can clip the yellow peice off the wire under the seat and Solder it, I don't have a solder so would a Wago block work? - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/381683155303

Again, if I do this does the light still need to be rest using VCDS? I do not have the software so if anyone is local to me (I'm in Gravesend, Kent) I would be willing to drive to you.

One other thing, I used to own a BMW and the airbag light was common on the E46 model. You could buy a emulator on eBay cheap which would replace the plug. Don't suppose there is anything like this for VWs? - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151809584719

Many thanks in advance
