Engine "shiver" at idle / Vibration

Post by caledonia2k »

Hi, hoping someone can help me diagnose this..
('09 B6 Estate, 2.0 TDi 140 diesel)

When the car is idling, every now and again it has a brief (lasts a second) shiver to itself.
Engine shakes then immediately settles again.
Did it 4 of 5 times in the 10 mins I was waiting on the daughter to get out of dancing on Monday.

Any Ideas?

In other news, whilst cruising on the Motorway, I get a vibration not unlike a wheel bearing/shock going.
Except it's not doing it under load/pulling, only when cruising or coasting.
Brother and I circled each other on the Motorway at 70mph and he checked all 4 corners, no play, no bouncing..

Very much hope something's not shaking itself apart inside the engine !
Most of my issues are caused by the nut connecting the saddle to the handlebars !!!
