Hi everyone,
On my B6 the interior fan resistor pack went after being stood for some time so I replaced it with a gen VW one a few months ago. Lo and behold the thermal fuse on the resistor pack went again.
After replacing it for a second time the fan is making a noise (as if the bearings on the fan motor are going)... my logic is saying the increase in resistance from the bearings caused a draw of a higher current which in turn blew the thermal fuse due to the increase in heat?
I haven't yet had a chance to drop the glove box and check nor could I find anything relating to replacement. Is it hard to change the motor on the interior blower? ECP on offer days have them for about £60 iirc by valeo.
Ive got access to a B6 Passat that has the Climatronic fan - I assume they are different?
Thank you in advance.
