Car taking too long to warm up :-(

Morning all

Now that we have hit the colder weather i am starting to find that my car is not fully up to temperature even after driving 12 miles to work. Does this sound normal to you guys because it doesn't sound right to me!

I know that the pre-heater is showing a fault behind the dash but surely it shouldn't take this long to get warm.
