I finally had the dreaded EPB failure last week. Happened very suddenly (car driving fine, parked up and when we went to drive off again it wouldn't release the rear passenger side brake).
AA man came and confirmed and removed the motor for me allowing me to get the car home.
Ordered a new motor from ebay and went to fit it. Fitted fine but the fault didn't clear (constant beeping of the failure and flashing lights).
When I put the handbrake on you hear the brakes motoring but the motor on the left side seems to keep going for a good 20 seconds before it cuts off and another loud bing sounds from the dash.
Am I missing something here or do I need to sacrifice a couple of goats to the VW god's and fork over some more money to my local garage?
Thanks in advance.
