Advice needed on fitting a tow bar to a 2006 passat estate

Hi, I'm trying to figure out if it's worth paying a garage to fit a tow bar for me. Or buying one and doing it my self as it's about 1/3 of the price!!
The fitting of a tow bar shouldn't be a problem as as far as I can see its just a case of bolting it in.
My main issue is the electrics, not sure if it's easy enough to do or not?
