so sunday night/monday morning, took the car on a run to charge battery up, dived on motorway and decided i'd see what kind of mpg figures i could get reported from the trip computer.
I set cruise to 56mph for about 2/3rds of the run and for the entire trip i logged 55mpg
this is the first time i tried maximising fuel use in the passat, so don't know if cruise control helps or hinders, or how accurate the trip computer is etc.
this is a little over double what i got from my v6 petrol mondeo and has got me interested in maximising my mpg figures.
given time of day and lack of traffic, i imagine the figures i got are about the absolute best possible from my car?
what figures are you guys getting? I don't know, but assume the estate is heavier than the saloon versions so presumably it loses a bit of mpg in comparison there
what can be done outside of driving style and a remap to increase mpg
mpg tips and tricks?
