Hi guys
I have been and viewed a Passat 58 2.0 Tdi 140 Highline tonight 105k fsh it was very clean to be honest just £3500 the lad was willing to take £3300 on account of there only being one key.
The car drove and handled perfect the engine bay was pristine has just had a replacement waste gate fitted by a local specialist with receipts to prove cam belt was also done recently
I walked away because the rear park brake wasn't working it had the Amber light on the dash and warning message stating it had a faulty park brake
It also said fault in the display where the mileage reads
And there was no ecu light on start up
The car is otherwise perfect plenty power ready to go at the blip of the pedal bodywork and engine bay mint interior mint I'm well miffed about the car not being 100%
I had a look under the car and the wiring harness is disconnected from both rear calipers I tried the foot brake and they would stop the care on a knife edge checked all the disks and they all look well. I'm debating looking at it again tomorrow I have a maxiscan for VW so could be worth scanning it to see if there are any faults. Anyone had similar issues? Would the above be enough to make you guys walk away?
I know calipers are expensive but how much am I looking at has anyone in the north east got any for sale?
Cheers
Just been to buy a 58 plate highline but walked away
