140 or 170 B6

Its time for a new passat as I'm loosing my mind without one. Now the problem starts, which one to go for, a 140 or a 170.
Which ever one it is will definitely be a DSG box as the days of me an manual gears are over. Reading up on the tinternet, have read all sorts about the 170 and how poo they are on economy. So, do i bite the bullet and get one and plan for a remap with DPF delete and EGR delete? Or go for a 140 and remap with bigger turbo and injectors and FMIC?

Interior I'm not too worried about as long as its an SE or Sport model with climatronic, half leather seats can be bought so as with the steering, stereo and other components. I'm just not sure on the engine to go for.

Any help will be appreciated.
